Here’s a summary of our journey so far:

1913 – Walter Tatlow Ltd. Founded by Sir Harry Harley

1916 – Walter Tatlow Ltd. became Coventry Gauge and quickly becomes one of the best known UK businesses for the design and manufacture of inspection and testing equipment

1982 – The special systems division was acquired by US company Brown & Sharpe Inc and operated as Tesa Metrology Systems in the UK

1988 – First automated systems developed the for the UK metal container industry

1996 – First automated in-line inspection machinery developed for high speed, operator free integration in metal container production

1999 – Tesa Metrology Systems acquired through MBO and rebranded as TMS Technology Limited

2002 – Trac Group was formed to include machining/tooling and measurement business divisions. Measurement business was renamed as Trac Measurement Systems and achieved ISO 9001 accreditation the same year. A UKAS accredited, complementary contract inspection and calibration business was added.

2007 – Trac Americas was set up in Denver Colorado to service customers in the Americas

2008 – UK business relocated to its current home, Nedge Hill Science Park in Telford

2013 – Measurement division demerged from Trac Group and business rebranded as Torus Measurement Systems Limited & Torus Americas Inc.

2014 – Torus Automation incorporated to provide automated handling/conveying equipment and a range of environmental machine structures and enclosures

2015 – Regional service offices opened in Asia (Hong Kong) and South America (Brazil) to service local customers

2016 – New 10,000 sq ft facility added alongside Torus HQ in Telford

2019 -  Torus Technology Group comprises: 110 staff, 30000 sq ft UK, 10,000 sq ft USA, 500+ Global Equipment Installations
